The archetype guides us in our process of bring into consciousness previously unknown and undiscovered truths. Carl Jung explored the nature of the archetypes. In that process he discovered that the archetypes of the unconscious provide insight into more that just the daily life of the individual. The archetypes take us into the unknown depths of being; the archetypes speak the language of the divine. Carl Jung expressed this truth when he said that “the dream is the divine voice and messenger.” (1938)
To understand the nature of the archetypes is to learn to speak a hieroglyphic language of the divine and to realize the symbolic discourse through which the divine speaks. Working with our dreams and with the archetypes is an inter-subjective process, revealing how our truth meets the truth of the divine, where our symbols meet the symbols of the divine.
